Mak Saigusa, DMD, MD, FACS
Dr. Makoto Saigusa is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He was born in Tokyo Japan and came to the United States as a high school foreign exchange student in Wisconsin and continued his education in the United States thereafter.
Schedule a ConsultationDr. Saigusa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Biology from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He then received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree with honors from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, followed by his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
He completed a six-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, which included a General Surgery Internship.
IN 1997, Dr. Saigusa moved to Tyler, Texas, to join Tyler Oral & Facial Surgery, founded by Dr. James Holton. He has nearly 30 years of professional experience in the specialty, including facial trauma, reconstructive jaw and facial surgery, TMJ surgery, and dental implants.
Dr. Saigusa and his wife, Elsa, reside in Tyler with their two daughters, two sons, and granddaughter.
